Timothy Olson and Gemma Arenas win at the CSP premiere on Ultra-Trail World Tour

Sixth edition of the CSP (115 km), which started at midnight from the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón. Great atmosphere at the exit and throughout the circuit, both in the evening and during the day.The night was cold, but the dawn allowed to reach very favorable temperatures for the race that was released as part of the prestigious world circuit Ultra-Trail World Tour.

The American Timothy Olson, one of the main favorites, was the first in the finish line. A very hard victory at 12:23:58, with an important advantage over Yeray Durán, second at 12:45:34. Third, Remi Queral (12:52:51).

In the female category, Gemma Arenas was the leader from start to finish. Winner of the MiM in 2016, this has been her first participation in the CSP and has obtained the best result. Clear win with a time of 15:01:19. Second place for Mercedes Pila (15:03:42), who won last year, and third for Leire Martínez (15:53:43).

Miguel Caballero and Laia Cañes win the MiM, with a new female record

Miguel Caballero from La Sportiva and current champion of Spain of Trail, obtained the victory in a time of 5:22:08. Behind, his teammate, Cristóbal Adell, who returned after a participation that turned into victory. Today was second at 5:30:03.  Ivan Ortiz, with a third position in his second home (5:31:37), completed the podium.

The big news came in the female category. Laia Cañes came to the race to settle a pending account. After five second positions, she just wanted to win. And she got it. She arrived to Sant Joan de Penyagolosa and broke the race time record, which was held by Rosa Guillamón since 2006.

Laia, from Team SportHG – AML Sport, stopped the time in 6:09:49. With 6:28:16, Eva María Moreda won the second place. Third for Ainhoa ​​Ostolaza in a time of 6:37:05.
