Penyagolosa Trails HG will host the World Championship from 10 to 13 May 2018

Penyagolosa Trails HG 2017 is part of our history. Its celebration has been the most international edition of the event and the premiere in the international circuit Ultra-Trail World Tour.

Now the Penyagolosa Trails HG organization looks ahead to the near future. And announces the date of the next edition. It will be from 10 to 13 May, days in which Castellon will host the 2018 World Championship.

Sixth edition of the CSP (115 km), which started at midnight from the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón. Great atmosphere at the exit and throughout the circuit, both in the evening and during the day.The night was cold, but the dawn allowed to reach very favorable temperatures for the race that was released as part of the prestigious world circuit Ultra-Trail World Tour.

The American Timothy Olson, one of the main favorites, was the first in the finish line. A very hard victory at 12:23:58, with an important advantage over Yeray Durán, second at 12:45:34. Third, Remi Queral (12:52:51).

In the female category, Gemma Arenas was the leader from start to finish. Winner of the MiM in 2016, this has been her first participation in the CSP and has obtained the best result. Clear win with a time of 15:01:19. Second place for Mercedes Pila (15:03:42), who won last year, and third for Leire Martínez (15:53:43).

Second race of the Spain Ultra Cup 2017, Timothy Olson and Mercedes Pila won the circuit leaders jersey in Pemyagolsa Trails HG.

Miguel Caballero and Laia Cañes win the MiM, with a new female record

Miguel Caballero from La Sportiva and current champion of Spain of Trail, obtained the victory in a time of 5:22:08. Behind, his teammate, Cristóbal Adell, who returned after a participation that turned into victory. Today was second at 5:30:03.  Ivan Ortiz, with a third position in his second home (5:31:37), completed the podium.

The big news came in the female category. Laia Cañes came to the race to settle a pending account. After five second positions, she just wanted to win. And she got it. She arrived to Sant Joan de Penyagolosa and broke the race time record, which was held by Rosa Guillamón since 2006.

Laia, from Team SportHG – AML Sport, stopped the time in 6:09:49. With 6:28:16, Eva María Moreda won the second place. Third for Ainhoa ​​Ostolaza in a time of 6:37:05.

Comauto Sport extends its support to sport as Regional Partner

Comauto Sport, official dealer of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat Professional, Jeep and Abarth supports sport and events in the region through the sponsorship of Penyagolosa Trails HG. In this way, Comauto becomes Regional Partner of this sport test.

 

Comauto Sport will give Penyagolosa Trails HG a fleet of 12 Fiat vehicles composed by the models Fullback 4×4, Fiorino, Doblò, Talento, Ducato and 500X, which will be used by medical services, career management and the transfer of photographers, journalists and guests of the organization. The organization will have another 14 vehicles destined to transport material and logistics.

 

 

GPS device for CSP runners

In line with the security policy and the improvement of the services to the runners of Penyagolosa Trails #HG , we launch again the possibility of accessing the service of real time tracking, by GPS, of the position of the runners through a map .

This year we will make available to the CSP runners a tracking device that will inform the exact position at each moment of the race on a map on the event page (http://penyagolosa.livetrail.net/gps.php) , from where the corridors can be located and it will be possible to choose whom to follow according to different options.

This platform will also allow, once the test is finished, to carry out an event reproduction in an accelerated manner

To carry out this monitoring, participants who request it will have to carry during the race an electronic device that will capture and send your position at any time.

Those interested in this service should reserve the device through the list of subscribers (https://www.penyagolosatrails.com/listado-penyagolosa-trails/). The device will be delivered at the Expo and must be returned to the organization once your race is over.

This service is completely free and will not generate any charge to the subscriber except in case of loss or non-return of the device. In this case your price will be invoiced to the subscriber through your credit card

Agreement between Penyagolosa Trails HG and Villarreal CF

Villarrael CF’s Ciudad Deportiva hosted the presentation of the agreement between Villarreal CF and Penyagolosa Trails HG. Tico Cervera, director of Penyagolosa Trails HG, and Jose Manuel Llaneza, vicepresident of the club, have signed the sponsorship.

 

In its desire to support the provincial sport, Villarreal CF supports Penyagolosa Trails HG. This event joins Endavant Esports project. This support has been immortalized by a representation of the first squad, with the football players Cédric Bakambu, Nicola Sansone, Manu Trigueros and Daniele Bonera as protagonists.

Assigned scores for MiM and CSP as scoring races for UTMB

As in previous editions, MiM and CSP are in the 2017 list of scoring races on the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®, with the same scores of last season. In this way, CSP has 3 points (5 new points) and MiM 2 points (4 new points) For 2018 entries, Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® will only accept the new points system. The evalution of the races and, therefore, the attribution of the points, is managed by the ITRA (International Trail Running Association). The organization of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®, based on the points attributed by ITRA, is who decides if a race has all the criteria to be scoring, and to be inscribed in the list.

Pau Capell and Azara García win in Transgrancanaria HG 125 km

Great weekend in Gran Canaria! Third test of Ultra-Trail World Tour and premiere of Spain Ultra Cup 2017.

The main race of Transgrancanaria HG, the 125 km, had a high participation. Trail runners from all over the world came to the island to be part of one of the season’s highlights.Pau Capell won in a time of 13:21:03. Strong and ambitious, he achieved the victory, broke the race record and became leader of the Spain Ultra Cup XL.

Second was Vaidas Zlabys (13:35:38) and third 2016, Didrik Hermansen (13:50:06).
In the women’s category, the first leader of the Spain Ultra Cup XL is Azara García. She was clear winner in a race where the stomach problems caused the retirement of some of her strongest rivals like Caroline Chaverot or Gemma Arenas.

Garcia crossed the finish line in 16:25:20. Secondo was Andrea Huser (17:15:45) and third Mélanie Rousset (17:30:40).

The Marathon crowned Núria Picas and Albert Pujol

Albert Pujol and Nuria Picas are the first leaders of the Spain Ultra Cup M. Both climbed to the top of the podium in the Marathon at 3:09:08 and 3:35:10 respectively. With this time, Picas gets a new test record that was at 4:01:01.

Assignment of free slots for MiM and CSP

The deadline for payment of the registration of the slots obtained by lottery for Penyagolosa Trails HG 2017 has been finalized. Unconfirmed slots are now available and the organization have been assigned following the order of the provisional list published after the closure of the pre-registration period.

In addition, in the case of MiM, all the runners who have been rejected in lotteries from the previous two editions and who have not had the option to run in either race.

You can already consult the list of the runners with slot. They will have until Thursday, January 12 at 09:00 h. to make the payment and confirm, as well, their participation. Once this deadline has expired, the list of participants of Penyagolosa Trails HG 2017 will be closed.
